The Fast Fix
Watching the news coverage of the 2000 presidential
elections I began to realize how the pressure to be
first compromises the honesty and integrity of media
outlets. Everyone wants to be first, and few seem to
care about the quality or reliability of the information
they provide. Many additive/detox companies are no
different.
Better,
Stronger and Faster ...Advertisement
Many copycat companies are making Herbal Teas and
"Carbo-Drinks" with questionable effects on
the outcome of drug tests. The push is on to label
products with increasing claims of speed, duration and
reliability. For example, early "carbo drink
mixes" instructed the user to drink the mixture at
least two hours before their test for a two hour
"Clean Urine" window. Today, drink mixes boast of a one hour preparation
time and "up to" a 5 hour clean Window. It is
interesting to note that the ingredients have not
changed in any significant way.
Who's
Getting hurt? You - The consumer!
Unscrupulous manufactures and internet salesmen simply
want to sell their product. Fantastic claims do sell
products. After they have your money, what happens to
you does not concern them. Many companies do not
guarantee anything beyond the ingredients in the product
(read the fine print), While others require you to
follow elaborate instructions to get a refund.
(Retailers know that only a small fraction of
dissatisfied customers will apply for a refund.)
REMEMBER:
It is completely legal for these salesmen
to make fantastic claims and deliver ordinary tea or
sugared drink mixes that have little more than a
"taste great."
Buyer Beware!
